Obituary of Brenda Gail Baker

Brenda Gail Baker, 58, of Kingsport entered into rest and received her eternal healing on March 19, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Brenda was born on March 15, 1960 in Kingsport to James and Monnie Baker. She was a 1978 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and was employed by Tennessee Eastman for over 20 years. Brenda was an avid dog lover and had many rescues that she enjoyed throughout her life. In addition, Brenda enjoyed reading her Bible and listening to her favorite gospel music as well as singing with her family in her younger years. Brenda is preceded in death by her father, James L. Baker; and sister, Debra Baker Conner. Brenda is survived by her mother, Monnie Baker; twin sister, Linda Baker; nephews, Jeremy Kouba and wife, Suzanne and Ben Blevins; niece, Chelsea Rapcan and husband, Nick; great nephews, Drew Kouba and Solly Rapcan; great niece, Tyler Prince; her beloved canine companion, Buddy; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends on March 21, 2018 from 5pm to 6pm in the Carter Trent Funeral Home, Downtown Kingsport Chapel. A memorial service will follow with Dr. Cecil Sturgill officiating. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Wellmont Pulmonary Associates, the critical care staff in D500 at HVMC, and the staff of Wilcox Hall for all the special care they showed Brenda.
