Obituary of Earl Prillhart

EARL  (JIGGS)  PRILLHART

Johnson City- Earl (Jiggs) Prillhart, 87, of Johnson City, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday morning (April 16, 2018) following a brief illness.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.  Mr. Prillhart retired as showroom manager with Wholesale Electric with over 17 years of service.  He also worked for several years with ITT Alamite Division.  Jiggs also enjoyed hosting bus tours with Fellowship Tours and most recently retired from State of Franklin Health Care as a Patient Navigator.  He was a member of First Church of God in Kingsport for over 20 years.  He was currently an active member of Morning Light Community Church in Johnson City.  Mr. Prillhart was a very dedicated Sunday School teacher, having taught in area nursing homes for over 24 years.  He  participated in several mission trips.  Jiggs was an avid car enthusiast and had a true passion to play bluegrass music.  He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Ann Prillhart Bradley along with several brothers and sisters.

Earl (Jiggs) Prillhart is survived by his children, Kelly Canter, Ella Scissom and husband, Chris, Myra King and husband, John; grandchildren, Jessica, Tiffany, Rachel, Amber, John, and Sarah; his 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Vernie Driggers and husband, Gene; his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Prillhart; step-sons, Douglas Counts and Scott Counts; 2 step-grandsons along with several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday (April 18, 2018) from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.  A funeral service will be conducted on Wendesday (April 18, 2018) at 5 p.m. with his nephew, Roger Prillhart, officiating.  A military graveside service will be conducted by the American Legion Color Guard on Thursday (April 19, 2018) at 11 a.m. at Vermont United Methodist Church Cemetery with his grandsons and great grandsons serving as pallbearers.  Kelly Musick and Pastor Jim Cox will serve as honorary pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer Association, 2020 Meadowview Parkway Suite 100, Kingsport, TN 37660.
