William “Donald” Williams 74, of Duffield went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Donald served his country in the Virginia National Guard. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to run his saw mill, and was known for being able to fix most anything. Donald was a loving father, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Thomas and Mary Ellen Williams; sisters, Dana Louise Williams and Cara Sue Williams; brother, James Richard Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Williams; son, Nathan Williams and friend Pamela Compton; sister, Trellis Tucker; nephews, Tim Williams and wife Jennifer, Brent Spivey and wife Brandy; nieces, Tammie Heaton and husband Gary, Tessa Snapp and husband Kent, and Leslie Tomlinson and husband Scott; along with a host of friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Scott County Funeral Home.
The family will also receive friends anytime at the home of his niece Tessa Snapp.
A graveside service will be conducted at Holston View Cemetery on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 11am with Pastor Layton Bentley officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 am to go in procession to the cemetery.
