Mildred Faye Hensley, 95, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Scott County, VA on January 7, 1927, to the late John and Irene Gobble. Mildred enjoyed a career in retail sales at J Fred Johnson’s and W.B. Greene’s until they closed. She retired from K-Mart at the age of 74. She loved flowers and gardening but her greatest joy was her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, C.L. Hensley; beloved son, David Hensley; sister, Jeanette Gobble; brothers, Kay, Glen, and John Gobble.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Ann Baker and husband Bill; son, Phil Hensley and wife Judy; sister, Barbara Kindle; sister-in-law, Alice Gobble; brother-in-law, Jack Parker; along with several nieces and nephews.
Because of Covid-19 concerns, the family has chosen to hold a graveside service on Saturday January 22, 2022, at 2 pm at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA with Rev. Doug Boggs officiating. Music will be provided by Teresa Pendleton. Pallbearers will be Jessie Rosenbaum, Tyler Rosenbaum, Braedon Rosenbaum, Joe Collier, Travis Hatfield and Brent Boggs. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 p.m. Due to Covid-19 concerns; the family requests that attendees please wear a mask.
