Obituary of Tammy Higgins

TAMMY  HIGGINS

Kingsport - Tammy Carroll Higgins, 54, struggles has finally came to an end.  After bringing her home as she wanted to do, she peacefully left this life.  Tammy had such a strong faith which ensures us she is now in the comforts of Heaven.  Tammy was a lifelong resident of the Rock Springs Community and was a graduate of Sullivan South High School in 1981.  She also received her Associates Degree from Northeast State.  She was a valuable asset and dedicated employee of almost 35 years with Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center holding numerous positions within the HR Department.  Mrs. Higgins was a lifelong member of Rock Springs United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, held numerous committee positons, and always volunteered for church activities.  Tammy was a loving and dedicated wife and mother who always put her husband and daughter first.  She was truly loved by all who knew her.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Rose Shipp, Charlie and Nell Carroll.

Tammy Higgins is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Jerry Higgins; a daughter, Abby Higgins; parents, Bennie and Carole Carroll; her brother, Aaron Carroll and wife, Christine; her mother-in-law, Carla Higgins; sister-in-law, Kim Steadman; nieces, Allie, Emily, Meghan, and Lily Carroll; nephew, Kelly Nelson; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of special friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday (June 25, 2018) from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Rock Springs United Methodist Church or friends may also call anytime at the residence or the residence of her parents.  A celebration of life service will be conducted on Tuesday (June 26, 2018) at 10 a.m. at Rock Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Buddy Butler, officiating.  Music will be provided by Lily Carroll and Ronnie Ledford.  A graveside service will follow the funeral on Tuesday (June 26, 2018) at Rock Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
