Eileen Dare Godsey Addington 93, of Weber City peacefully went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2018 with her  loving family by her side. Eileen was born on October 1, 1924 in the Midway (Valley Creek) Community of Scott Co., VA. She was a graduate of Midway High School. She married the love of her life, C.F. Addington in September of 1942. They lived in Nickelsville, VA for a few years. C.F. taught school at Midway and Eileen was a wonderful homemaker. The birth of their first daughter Kathleen was a joyous occasion. Following C.F.’s service in the Army during World War II they settled in Weber City, VA. C.F. and Eileen’s brothers, Edwin and Paul Godsey began a family business A&G Electric. C.F. and Eileen built a home on Greenwood Drive. Two years later their second daughter Jennifer was born. They remained in Weber City the rest of their lives. They were charter members of Salley’s Chapel Baptist Church. They were active members of Gideons International- Scott Co. Camp. Eileen was a member of the Gideons Auxiliary- Scott Co. Camp, and a member of the Eastern Star-Gate City, VA. Eileen loved the Lord, her family and friends.  She was a kind, loving and nurturing mother, grandmother, and friend who will be truly missed.

Eileen was preceded in death by her loving husband, C.F. Addington; parents, William Elmo and Sylvia Dougherty Godsey; brothers, Edwin Godsey, Paul Godsey, and Roie M. Godsey.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Flick and husband Don, Jennifer Starnes and husband Allen; granddaughters, Donna France and husband Steve, LuAnn Lynch and husband Mike; great grandchildren, Stacie Jenkins and husband Jason, Derrick France and wife Kelli; Jordan Kirk, Luke Kirk and wife Maleah; great- great grandchildren, Carson and Parker Jenkins, Mallori and Landrey France, and Graham Kirk; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Rev. George Winegar, Rev. Paul Blessing, and Dr. Lester Morelock officiating. Music will be provided by the Salley’s Chapel Church Choir and Sue Carter.

A graveside service will follow at Holston View cemetery with Steve France, Mike Lynch, Jason Jenkins, Derrick France, Luke Kirk, and Carson Jenkins serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Flick, Allen Starnes, David Kirk, and Jordan Kirk.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Salley’s  Chapel  Baptist Church at Box 134 Chapel St. Weber City, VA 24290 or Gideons International – Scott Co. Camp at P.O. Box 635 Gate City, VA 24251.
