Obituary of Kenneth Wayne Morelock, Sr.
KENNETH WAYNE MORELOCK, SR.
Kenneth Wayne Morelock, Sr., age 74, of Kingsport, passed away on Wednesday (July 18, 2018) at Asbury Center of Kingsport surrounded by his family. Born in Sullivan County on September 2, 1943, he was the son of the late Bynum and Ruby Morelock. He retired from Waste Management following 34 years of service.
He loved to work in the yard, grow his red roses, and feed his birds.
He attended State Line Baptist Church. He was saved at Weber City Church of God under the ministry of Reverend Raymond Hammonds.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Willard Morelock, Leonard Morelock, and Orville “Doc” Morelock; his sisters, Beulah Morelock and Lola Zimmerman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Elizabeth (Hutchins) Morelock; son, Wayne Morelock (Deanna); daughters, Vickie Nicholson (Don) and Karen Case (Wayne); grandson, Kenneth Nicholson; granddaughters, Kayla Purdie (John), Kendra McConnell, and Kayce West (Matt); great-grandson, Brooks West; great-granddaughter, Parker Baldwin; a soon to be born great granddaughter, Kati Ann McConnell; brothers, Walter “Bud” Morelock and Paul Morelock (Barbara); sisters, Eunice Taylor (Perry), Carol Carter, and Bobbie Jean Spriggs (Jack); aunt, Dorothy Talley; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 pm Saturday, July 21, 2018, with a funeral service to follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Randall Spivey and Pastor Allen Jervey, officiating. A graveside service will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
