Obituary of Estelle Ruth Bales

Estelle Ruth Bales, 93, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Holston Manor.

 Estelle was born on June 14, 1925 in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Alvin and Alberta “Dottie” Wright. She was known all around Kingsport as being one beautiful classy lady. She always enjoyed her retail career as selling and fitting woman in beautiful dresses and gowns. She loved to help the young women find the perfect gown for their special occasions.  Her green thumb was shown year after year as her flower garden was always a sight to see.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bales; a very special friend, Phyllis; and all of her siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Lockhart and husband Ernie; daughter, Patricia Bowers; granddaughters, Elly Carter (Matt) and Wendy Harless (Bobby); grandson, Joe Nelms(Rebecca);  6 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 11am to 1pm at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Downtown Kingsport. A memorial service will follow with Chaplain Ryan Wagoner officiating.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Holston Manor, Amedisys Hospice, Watauga Orthopedics and Dr. Wells, and two very special nurses who Estelle loved and adored, Steve and Deb.
