Obituary of Mary Laws Hensley
MARY LAWS HENSLEY
Kingsport- Mary Laws Hensley, 70, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday morning (September 10, 2018) at the Wexford House following a brief illness. Mary had spent her entire life in Sullivan County. She was very active in church, singing in many quartets along with playing the piano. Mary truly loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Edward Hensley; parents, Rev. G. A. Minton and Artie Minton.
Mary Laws Hensley is survived by her children, Artanda Carter and husband, Tim, Allen Hensley, Shane Hensley and wife, Becky; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; her brothers, Arlie Carl (Buck) Laws, Robert Laws, Allen Laws; sisters, Marie Moffatt, Kathy Hall, and Faye Fannon along with several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday (September 14, 2018) from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport or friends may also call anytime at the residence of the daughter, Artanda. A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Friday (September 14, 2018) at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday (September 15, 2018) at 12 noon at East Tennessee Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Tim Carter will serve as an honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
