Obituary of Wanda Wolfe Hood

Wanda Hood, 85, of Mount Carmel died October 11, 2018 at home surrounded by family. She was a charter member of Higher Ground Baptist Church. She was retired from First Tennessee Bank.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Samuel and Hazel Ellis Wolfe; infant daughter, Beverly Jane; brothers, Ralph Wolfe and Jim Wolfe; and sister, Betty Webb.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Gordon Hood; daughters, Deborah (Frank) Winegar and Lisa (Richard) Mason; sister, Jean Ferguson; grandchildren, Frank Winegar III, Alison Ghiaseddin, Lauren Leonard, Blake Jennings; and seven great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Downtown Kingsport from 4pm to 6pm. A funeral service will follow with Bishop Hagan Webb officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11am at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Ronnie Owens officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50am.

The family would like to give a warm special loving thanks to all the caregivers from Smokey Mountain Hospice.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Higher Ground Baptist Church, 1625 Lynn Garden Drive, Kingsport, Tennessee 37665.
