Obituary of Emory C. Begley

Emory C. “Bill” Begley Jr. 79, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Bill served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Eastman Chemical Co. after 33 years of service. Bill was an avid Dobyns Bennett Football fan and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory Cox Begley Sr. and Nannie Frazier Begley; sisters, Wilma Begley and Marie Anderson; brothers, Joe and Fred Begley.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years Sylvia Begley; daughter, Kimberly Bruner and husband Johnny; son, Jeffrey Begley; granddaughters, Hope and Haylie Bruner; special great- grandson, Ezekiel “Zeke” Mingo; granddaughters, Rachel and Leah Lucas; sister, June Vaughn;  beloved dogs, Pippie and Miley; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Garry Hood and Pastor David Hood officiating. Music will be provided by the Hood family.

A military graveside will be conducted at 11am on Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Begley Family Cemetery in Ft. Blackmore, VA with American Legion Hammond Post #3/265 conducting the honors. Pallbearers will be Norman Sawyer, Wayne Darnell, Chris Ferrell, Brian Lucas, Logan Salyer, Ronnie Hood, and Tony Tipton. Honorary pallbearers will be Robin Hood, Hobart Adams, Jack France, Ronald Bowen, and Wayman Ferrell. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Amedysis Hospice especially, Cathy, Tyrel, and Ashley for their loving care.
