Obituary of Frances Marie Hunley

FRANCES  HUNLEY

Kingsport- Frances Marie Hunley, 71,of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday night (October 31, 2018).  She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport.  Frances was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1964.  She was a beloved employee at Holston Elementary School.  Mrs. Hunley loved to travel and especially loved going to the beach.  Frances truly loved her children and was so proud to be known to her grandchildren as “Nana”.  She was a devoted member of Temple Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Clyde Smith; a brother, Anthony Smith and his wife, Diana Smith.

Frances Marie Hunley is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Charles Hunley; her sons, Damon Hunley and wife, Donna, Blake Hunley and wife, Shelley; her grandchildren, Madyson, Bella, Cameron, and Irelynd; a brother, Dale Smith and wife, Mavis; her nieces, Dawn Smith and Rachel Smith along with her beloved aunt, Marie Hawkins.

A visitation will be held on Friday (November 2, 2018) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. or friends may also call anytime at the residence of the son, Blake, 1000 S. River Drive in Kingsport.  A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Wayne Baker, officiating.  A graveside service will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park with Damon Hunley, Blake Hunley, Cameron Hunley, Steve Johnson, Pete Baird, Joe Blakely, and Dale Smith serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Ridenour, Benny Ridenour, and Larry Ridenour.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  You can send an online condolence to the family by visiting www.cartertrent.com.  Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Hunley family.
