Obituary of Stella Mae Church
Kingsport – Stella Mae Tipton Church, 82 of Kingsport, went to be with her Lord on Friday, November 16, 2018 at her residence. She was a member of Cedar View Independent Methodist Church and worked at Cedar View Christian School. Stella was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and the anchor of her family. She was a very dedicated Christian and loved reading God’s Word.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Nellie Ratliff Tipton and her sister, Thelma Ruth Tipton.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, James; her six children: son, David and wife Connie Church, daughter, Kim and husband Barnie Fields, daughter, Angie Church, son, Gary Church, daughters, Pam Church and Susan Church, all of Kingsport; grandchildren, Brandy, Davy, Vondi, Alex, Tosha, Justin and Addison; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Monday at Cedar View Independent Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Fields officiating.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Barnie Fields, Davy Church, Alex Rogers, Evan Gilliam, Justin Church and Jaden Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeb Stewart, Jordan Stewart, David Harris, Bryan Harris and C. J. Rogers.
