Obituary of Patsy Trent

PATSY  TRENT

Kingsport-  Patsy Trent, 89, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on Thursday (November 29, 2018) at her home surrounded by her family.  She was a graduate of Dobyns Bennett High School and was a graduate of UT Memphis having received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree.  Patsy retired from Holston Valley Community Hospital with over 40 years of loyal service.  Following retirement, she dedicated her life to taking care of her family.  Mrs. Trent was a longtime member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church and especially enjoyed the fellowship of her Sunday School class.  Patsy was a nurturing caregiver who was loved by all who knew her.  She was an avid gardener who just loved being outdoors.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Carl Trent; her parents, Hubert and Hazel Cody; a sister and two brothers.

Patsy Trent is survived by her loving children, Sandra Null and husband, Ed, Carol Reeves and husband, Pat, Robert Trent, Jennifer Easley and husband, Ricky; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Cody; her beloved granddog, “Romo” along with several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday (December 2, 2018) from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport with a graveside service to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Patrick Reeves, David Chappell, Taylor McMann, Sam Null, and Mike Harrelson.  Andrew Carter and Kenneth Cody will serve as honorary pallbearers.  You can send an online condolence to the family by visiting www.cartertrent.com.  Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Trent family.
