Obituary of John E. Short

JOHN  E.  SHORT

Mount Carmel- John E. Short, 73, of Mount Carmel, went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning (December 23, 2018) at his residence following a lengthy illness.  He was originally from Seaford, Delaware and had lived in Mount Carmel for the past 45 years.  John retired as a truck driver having been owner/operator.  He loved being a mechanic and working on all kinds of things.  He truly loved to research and learn about his family history.  John was a veteran of the United States Army.  Mr. Short was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Hester Short; a daughter, Stephanie Crean; his grandson, Ty Jarvis and a sister, Dorothy Taylor.

John E. Short is survived by his loving wife, Lynda Short; his children, Daniel Short, J.J. Short, Robert Jarvis (Tammy), Whitney Sanders, Tony McMillan (Angel), Lee McMillan (Barbara), and Regina Perkins;  15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; a sister, Janet Turner; his special friends, Doug Cooper, John and Brenda Winegar, and Junior Arnold; his faithful dog, “King” along with several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday (December 28, 2018) from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill or friends may also call anytime at the residence.  A celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday (December 28, 2018) at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Jason Pickup, Pastor Jonathan Lovelace, and Pastor Paul Necessary, officiating.  Teresa Garland will be providing the music.  You can send an online condolence to the family by visiting www.cartertrent.com.  Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill is serving the Short family.
