Obituary of Annie Griffin Bouchillon
ANNIE GRIFFIN BOUCHILLON
Annie Griffin Bouchillon, of Kingsport, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, January 7, 2019.
Annie was the daughter of Reuben F. and Iler Campbell Griffin.
She was the widow of her loving husband of 57 years, Cecil L. Bouchillon.
She was preceded in death by her eldest son Jerry L. Bouchillon and grandchildren Rosemary Holt Smith, Jennifer Bouchillon Seezen and Samuel Bouchillon, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Holt (Michael) of Blountville; son, Samuel K. Bouchillon, Sr. (Mary John) of Athens, TN; daughter, Peg Welch (Lloyd) of Bluffton, SC; son, Gregory G. Bouchillon (Marcia) of Nashville; grandchildren, Chris Holt; Ricky, Billy, Clint, Andrew, Brandon, John Mark, Christina, Grant, and Chase Bouchillon; Wendy Orenstein; Spencer, Tyler, and Hunter Brasfield; Stacey Branyan; and twenty-two great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
Annie was retired as the secretary and bookkeeper of Blountville Junior High for 16 years. She was a devoted and longtime member of her church at Blountville First Baptist, Litz Manor, and more recently of First Baptist Church of Kingsport. She was a Bible scholar, served as deacon, Sunday school teacher (76 years), choir member, soloist, and Bible school director/worker. She was longtime member of the PTA and served as president for several years. She was a pianist, skilled in arts and crafts, a painter, and an avid gardener with a love for growing flowers. She supported numerous religious charities, the homeless, and disabled veterans. One of her greatest enjoyments was serving as a host family on holidays for international students from ETSU and King College.
A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church Kingsport on Saturday (January 12, 2019) from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. or friends may also call anytime at the residence of the daughter, Joan Holt.
The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday (January 12, 2019) at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church Kingsport with Dr. Marvin Cameron and Dr. Clay Austin, officiating.
A committal service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday (January 13, 2019) at Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol, TN.
We want to express our most sincere appreciation to the staff at Crown Cypress Kingsport for their kind, loving, and devoted care of our mother. They brought much joy to her daily for which we will always be grateful. Also we are thankful for her many dear and faithful friends for visits, cards, and continued prayers.
