Obituary of Floyd Hugh Brown
Floyd Hugh Brown 88, of Jonesborough went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his home. Floyd moved to the area in 1960 and was employed Johnson-Hilliard for many years. He owned and operated a heating and cooling business where he enjoyed teaching and working with his sons. Floyd later joined Hilda in Appalachian Tours & Charter where they traveled the country together.
He is preceded in death by his son, Gregory Allen Brown; brother, Emory Brown; sisters, Louise Hussong and Ola B. Reed.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Hilda Tester-Brown; sons, Sonny Brown and wife Angela, Steven Brown and wife Arlene, Roger Tester and wife JoAnn, and Doug Tester and wife Debby; granddaughters, Amy Rollins, Chelsea Ridgeway, and Brittany Tester; great-granddaughters, Ella and Jade Rollins, and Arya Fain; brother, J.B. Brown; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4pm to 6pm on Wednesday, January 23, 2018 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Janice Bennett officiating.
Military graveside service will be conducted at 10am on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at East Lawn Memorial Park with American Legion Hammond Post#3/265 conducting the honors. Pallbearers will be Dicky Edwards, Steven Fain, Charlie Spears, Robert Spears, Roger Cox, and Steven Jarrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Weldon Cox, Clark Cox, Gene Spears, John King, and Sammy Estepp. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 9:15am to go in procession to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Fall Branch Volunteer Fire Department at 106 Ruritan Rd., Fall Branch, TN 37656.
