Obituary of Ellen Ruth Goad

Ellen Ruth Goad, 81, of Church Hill, Hawkins County TN, passed away Friday January 25, 2019 at Wexford Nursing Home in Kingsport, TN. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County, TN. Ruth is one of serval children born to Nell Marshall. She is a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She is of the Christian faith and may her memory be eternal.

She is preceded in death by her husband Nile Goad, along with several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her one son, Scott Goad and wife Tammy of Kingsport, TN; three grandchildren, Matthew, Mitchel and Samantha; two great grandchildren, Joshua and Sophia; three sisters and one brother, Judy Mellons, Martha Jobe, Phyllis Mathis, and Donnie Marshall; special brother-in-law, Bobby Jobe; and several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home located at 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport, TN. A service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Minister Freddie Redman Jr. officiating, eulogy by Mitchel Goad.
