Obituary of Violet Hilliker

          Violet Amy Hilliker, age 100, of Rogersville, went home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Signature Health Care in Rogersville following an extended illness. She was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Hale Methodist Church in Hale, MI. Violet loved serving her Lord and Savior and spending time with her family. Her children were her world. Violet was content in all things.

          She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Everett Hilliker; sisters, Ruth Hammond, Helen Fowler and Lily Simpson; and brothers, Chuck and Albert Schmitter.

          She is survived by her sons, Bill Hilliker (Tonia) and Michael Hilliker (Jessica); daughter, Bonnie Taschner (Bob); 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 great great-grandchildren; brothers, Floyd Schmitter (Virginia) and Arnold Schmitter (Leona); sister, Shirley Wadley and Doris Wilson; several nieces, nephews, thousands of cousins and a host of extended family and friends.

          Violet will be laid to rest in the late spring to early summer at East Lawn Cemetery in Saginaw, MI, alongside her loving husband of 41 years.
