Obituary of Marjorie Pennington

Marjorie Pennington, age 94,  of Arizona, formerly of Kingsport,TN, passed away gracefully  into the arms of Jesus on Friday, February 8^th with her daughter by her side at the age of 94.

Marjorie lived in the Kingsport area most of her life until she and her husband moved to Phoenix, AZ in October 1997. She was a good Southern cook and basked in sharing good eats with others. Quilting was a hobby she shared with her husband, and one of her best friends and neighbor. Marjorie loved to travel, especially through National Parks, but her most satisfying activity was her faith in getting to know and share her Lord and Savior with others. She touched and was touched by many people with whom she became very close.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Norval and Maude (Bishop) Ketron; loving husband of almost 78 years, Charles; three brothers, Robert, I.J., and Eugene Ketron; two sisters, Jerree Hawkins and Mavis Graham. .

Survivors include her daughter, Shelia Pennington (Nensel) of AZ; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends whom she loved dearly.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 22^nd from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. A funeral service will be conducted at 12pm on Saturday, February 23^rd at Carter-Trent Funeral Home with Pastors Ray Amos Sr. and Alan Buckles officiating.

A graveside service will follow at Hermon UMC Cemetery with David Ketron, Tony Graham, Aaron Hawkins, Raymond Ketron, Clifford Pennington, Maynard Ketron, and Joe Ketron serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Marjorie’s nephews.

Family and friends may call or visit any time at the home of Louise Harrison.
