Obituary of Bobbie Glenn Lovegrove

 

Bobbie Glenn Lovegrove, 79, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Thursday April 4, 2019. Bob was born on August 31, 1939 in Kingsport to the late Reverend Virgil and Ethel Hudson Lovegrove. Bob retired from Holliston Mills with 34 years of service. He loved woodworking and was nicknamed "Bob the Builder." He built birdhouses, snowmen and Mickey and Minnie Mouse decorations. Bob was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. 

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Yvonne Stills, Emma Ruth Parker, Louise Hill, and one brother, Lester Lovegrove.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Lucille Kern Lovegrove; son, Jeffery Shane Lovegrove and wife, Cynthia Lovegrove; grandchildren, Devon Alexander and Kayla May Lovegrove; sister-in-law, Jewel Lovegrove; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Kathleen Ford; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

 

The family would like to thank the Mountain Region Family Medicine, Dr. Sean Watson, Holston Medical Wound Care and Wes Palmer, Suncrest Home Health, Sullivan West Volunteer Fire Department, Sullivan County EMS and friends and family who have shown their continued love and support for Bob and Lucille.  

 

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Downtown Kingsport. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Pastor Jeff Strong officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Kenny Adams, Ronald Adams, Jonathan and Jacob Ford, and Darell and Matthew Johnson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Greer, Pat Link, and Michael Ford.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Sullivan Baptist Church Building Fund, located at 4152 Maplewood St. Kingsport TN 37660; or to the Sullivan West Volunteer Fire Department, located at 113 Rosemont St. Kingsport, TN 37660.
