Obituary of Alma Jewel Clamon
Alma Jewel Clamon, age 74, of Kingsport, TN, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 4 after an extended illness. She passed away at Church Hill Healthcare and Rehab in Church Hill, TN. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. Jewel was a lifelong resident of Kingsport, TN and attended Lynn View High School. She worked for many years at Kingsport Press and was a charter member of Willow Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie B Culbertson in 1990 and her mother, Ruby Blankenbeckler Culbertson in 1993 and her brother-in-law Gary Miller in 2004.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donnie Clamon; daughter, Rhonda Burke (David) Givens and stepsons, Chuck (Beverly) and Harry Clamon; 2 sisters, Mrs. Janice (Donnie) Jones and Ms. Garnetta Miller; 3 brothers, Mr. Jimmy (Nelda) Culbertson, Mr. Lowell “Butch” (Linda) Culbertson and Mr. Carl (Cynthia) Culbertson; and six Grandchildren, Madison Givens, Rachael Bailey, Cameron, Caleb, Chandler, Austin and Savannah Clamon; several nieces and nephews and many special cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in downtown Kingsport. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm with Pastor Mark Blankenbeckler and Elder Scott Tipton officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Oak Hill Memorial Park. All those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 pm. Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
