Obituary of Phyllis Clark Dean
Phyllis Clark Dean
Mt. Carmel – May 10, 2019 was a most splendid spring day with a high blue sky, and a light breeze. God entered quietly in the cool of the evening to gather Phyllis Clark Dean from this world of trial to His heavenly home. A resident of this earth for 81 years, a child of God, daughter, wife, mother and Bubba to those closest.
Phyllis was born to Sidney and Ottie Clark, a sibling to the late Fern Clark Bellamy, wife to the late Thomas E. Dean, Jr., mother to Ginger, Kim (Dale Roberts), Angie (Coy Owens; grandmother (Bubba) to Sierra (Josh Taylor) and Eli (McKenzie Johnson) and friend to many.
Phyllis was active in home and community. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Eastern Star, Bible Study Fellowship, Precept Ministries and, on occasion, performed as Aunt Bea in church plays. She was a woman of character with a quick wit and a great love for children, especially her own. She lived at the top of Carnation Lane and spent many days enjoying her flowers and all of God’s creation that stopped by to visit her garden. Cordelia and Theo Taylor often entertained there, to her great delight. Bubba enjoyed life and will be greatly missed on this earth, but she is more alive now than ever, waiting for us to join her in eternal celebration of Jesus, our Lord, Savior and King, conqueror of death!
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2019 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Friends may also call anytime at the home of the daughter, Angie Owens.
Following the visitation, a funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. with Pastor Todd Haley officiating. Music will be provided by the Lighthouse Quartet.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Liberty Hill Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Come help us celebrate a life well lived.
A special thanks to all who ministered to the family in these last days, particularly the nurses, doctors, clergy and especially friends. Your kindness is beyond compare. Thank you again.
