Obituary of Dean Tate

C.  DEAN  TATE

Kingsport-  Dean Tate, 77, of Kingsport, loving and devoted husband, dad, papaw, and great papaw fought the good fight who finished the good race on Tuesday (June 25, 2019).  He is now beholding the glory of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!   Dean was a 1960 graduate of Ketron High School where he was co-captain of the football team.  Mr. Tate retired from Tennessee Eastman with over 35 years of service.  He was a former Scout Master for Troop # 155.  He loved to plan events to spend time with family and friends while capturing memories through film and pictures.  Dean was an avid fisherman his entire life and also very passionate in sports and especially his family heritage. Dean was active in church and tried to live as a Godly example.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Martha Tate; six sisters and two brothers.

Dean Tate is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Louise Tate; his children, Malinda Gillin and husband, David, Valerie Peters and husband, Darren, Cindy Norris and husband, Robbie, Anthony Tate and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Johnathan (Maria) Webb, Shawn (Amber) Webb, Isaac (Whitney) Peters, Hannah Norris, Becca (Jeff) Jordan, Kelly Peters, Ryan Peters, and Abby Peters; four great grandchildren; his brother, Paul Tate along with special nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation will take place on Saturday (June 29, 2019) from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport or friends may also call anytime at the residence of the daughter, Valerie Peters.  A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday (June 29, 2019) at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ray Amos, Sr. and Rev. Randy Powers, officiating.  A graveside service will follow the funeral service on Saturday (June 29, 2019) at Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
