Obituary of Inez Bright Anderson

Inez Bright Anderson 84, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at NHC of Kingsport surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Scott County, Virginia to the late Verlin and Janice Bright and later graduated from Hiltons High School in 1955 where she enjoyed cheerleading. Inez served the City of Kingsport as a crossing guard for over 31 years before her retirement in 1999 as well as chaperoning the 6^th grade trip to Washington D.C. for many years. She was a Charter Member of Higher Ground Baptist Church. Inez was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph N. Anderson; sister, Cledith McMurray; brother, David Bright; step-son, Dennis Anderson.

Survivors include her daughters, Teresa Davenport and husband Tom, Tammy Latture and husband Mike; grandchildren, Tyler Smotherman and wife Courtnie, Trey Smotherman and wife Megan, Ryan Latture, Lauren Latture, Zach Latture, Emily Latture, and Josh Davenport; great-grandchildren, Graeson Smotherman, Clay Smotherman,  and Andee Mae Smotherman; sisters, Ruth Bright, Mary Ann Starnes and husband Cliff; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Ronnie Owens officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Martha Ministry in which she served at Higher Ground Baptist Church at 1625 Lynn Garden Dr., Kingsport, TN 37665.
