Obituary of Alice Faye Crigger Lane
Alice Faye Crigger Lane, age 78, went to be with the Lord Sept 20, 2019. Alice was a resident of Hawkins County; she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Housewright Crigger. Alice was a very loving wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and listening to gospel music and loved her flowers. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch swing.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Fred J. Lane, her precious son, Jackie Wayne Lane, her sisters, Reba Collins, Edna Washington and Shirley Dechey and her brother, Sherman Crigger Starnes.
Those left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Susan Paulette Dowell and husband Terry of Jonesborough ,Pamela Woody of Kingsport, and her son, Freddie Lane and wife Beth of Church Hill; her brothers, Robert Carl Crigger of Michigan, Daniel Jeff Crigger and Charles Crigger Jr.; and her sister, Sharlie Davison and a very special aunt, Pauline Crigger; grandchildren, Michelle Dean, Angie Woolard, Kandi Mabb, Brandi Woody, Chris, Eric, Dewayne, Shannon Lane and Josh Woody; five step grandchildren, Tyra Dowell, Amber Drake, Allison Key, Kayla Weathly and Hunter Lawson; eighteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family of Alice Faye Crigger Lane will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Monday, September 23, 2019, at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM with Rev. Pat Hammond and Rev. Randy Waller officiating. Music will be provided by True Faith Quartet. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 1 PM Tuesday, in the Oak Hill Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Josh Woody, Eric Lane, Shannon Lane, Mitch Dean, Patrick Woolard and Scott Weathly. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Dowell, Wayne (Whistle) Williams and G.P.Statzer. Minister’s family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 12: 50 PM Tuesday.
