Obituary of Rowena Steadman
Rowena Steadman, 73, of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord on October 22, 2019 only 9 days after the passing of her loving husband “Pat” Steadman. Rowena grew up and lived her entire life in Kingsport and graduated from Ketron High School. She worked at Holston Valley Medical Center as a phlebotomist for 12 years and owned the Baskin Robbins Ice Cream store in the Fort Henry Mall. Rowena was a loving wife, mother, nana, sister, and aunt. She loved the beach at Topsail Island, N.C., watching her granddaughters play softball and especially her miniature schnauzer named Casper.
Rowena was preceded in death by her husband, Harry “Pat” Steadman; parents, J.T. Davis and Alma; sister, Linda Hensley.
Survivors include her daughter, Nicole “Nikki” Steadman-Harmon and husband Jack Martin Harmon of Telford, TN; granddaughters, Megan Harmon Winterroth and Martina Harmon; great-granddaughters, Layla and Alexis Winterroth; brothers-in-law, Danny Steadman and wife Bonnie of Kingsport, and Jerry Steadman of Whitesburg, TN; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12pm on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Mountain View UMC with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Music will be provided by Pastor Craig Ponder. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the church by 11:50 am.
A graveside service will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
