Obituary of Oma Ford
Oma Banks Ford, 89 of Kingsport went to be with the Lord, Friday, October 25, 2019. She was a member of Holy Mountain Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death was her loving husband of 66 years, Charles Isaac Ford; her parents, Bartley and Nancy Banks; three brothers, Charlie Banks, Louis Banks, and John Banks; and two sisters, Selma Gates and Essie Ford.
She is survived by two sons, Terry Ford and wife Judy, Chuck Ford and wife Marsha; grandchildren, Amy Lane (Jeff), Jonathan Ford (Candi), Isaac Ford, Abigail Barrett (Jake), Caleb Ford (Caitlin), and Levi Ford; five great grandchildren, Izzy and Emmett Lane, Perrin Whelchel, Payton, and Mason Ford; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 4 PM to 6 PM at Holy Mountain Baptist Church, 3121 Ashley Street, Kingsport, TN 37664. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Jerry Musick and Mike Malone officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Union Cemetery, 420 Mineral Street, Newport, TN 37821. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 AM.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff and residents at the Blake of Kingsport for loving Oma and bringing joy to her life.
