Obituary of R.C. Robinson

R.C. Robinson 94, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center. He served his country in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Robinson. R..C was a devoted member of Vermont UMC, he was also a 71 year member of the Masonic Lodge, and a very proud member of the Shrine where he was a member of the Jericho Legion of Honor. In 1999 he was awarded the International Legion of Honor. R.C. helped to place a wreath on the tomb of the unknown soldier in 1998 which was a great honor to him.

He was preceded in death by his mother of his child, Juanita Cain Robinson; parents, Cephas and Julia Robinson; sisters, Annette Zimmerman and Dolly Mae Holbrook.

Survivors include his loving wife Mary Ann Robinson; daughter, Patricia Ketron; son, Kevin Rock; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4pm to 6pm on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Vermont UMC. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Jeremy McMillan officiating. Music will be provided by Julie Pyle and Jane Harris.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1pm on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Grandview Cemtery in Bluefield, VA. Honorary pallbearers will be the Jericho Legion of Honor and the Jericho Marching Patrol. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50pm.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Vermont UMC or to the Transportation Program of the Jericho Shrine.
