Obituary of Kenneth Wayne Wininger, Sr.

Gate City – Kenneth Wayne Wininger, Sr., 69 of Gate City, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Indian Path Community Hospital. Born in Kingsport, he had lived in the Yuma, VA community all of his life. Wayne retired as a truck driver for Pet Dairy in 2012. He loved old Cars and was an amateur ham operator (KF4EIM).

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Leathie Wininger; a son, Kenny Wayne Wininger; father-in-law, John Carter Hensley.

 

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marie Hensley Wininger; daughter, Kim Henderson and husband Jeff; grandsons, Josh Henderson and wife Danielle and Aaron Henderson; granddaughter, Whitney Duncan; mother-in-law, Rosa Lee Hensley.

 

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Monday, December 16, 2019 at Scott County Funeral Home.

 

A funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Larry Tolley officiating. A eulogy will be given by Larry Musick.

 

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am Tuesday at Holston View Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 am. Pallbearers will be David Falin, Joe Williams, Dewayne Thompson, Matthew English, Bill Falin and Daniel Falin. Honorary pallbearers will be Nelson McCracken, Pet Dairy Employees and his Ham Radio Buddies.
