Obituary of John David Wallen

Mr. John “David” Wallen, age 58, of Church Hill, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019, at the Holston Valley Medical Center.

David was a resident of Rogersville. He was the son of the late John and Minnie Wilson Wallen.

David had thirty-two years of service to the town of Mt. Carmel. He enjoyed watching Nascar and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-one years, Vicky Wallen; one daughter, Mary Beth Manis and her husband Michael; one son, Benjamin Wallen; two sisters, Anna Lawson and her husband Ralph and Betty Jo Lawson and her husband Burl; one brother, Guy Wallen and his wife Barbara; three grandchildren, McKenley Manis, Gibson Manis and Coy Wallen; special niece, Jennifer Worley; special dog, Toby.

The family of Mr. John “David” Wallen will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday, December 28, 2019, in the Carter Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill. The funeral service will follow at 1 pm with Toney Seals officiating. The graveside committal service will follow in the Willis Cemetery, Blackwater Virginia. Active pallbearers will be Johnny Castle, Carl Calton, Bill Smith, Doug McDavid, James Robinson and Mike Hawkins.
