Obituary of Giles "Ed" Ferguson

Kingsport – Giles Eddie “Ed” Ferguson, 82 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Nickelsville, he had lived in Kingsport for most of his life. He was a retired elevator technician. Ed was a 50 year member of the Stuart Masonic Lodge #224 in Lebanon, VA and also had a dual membership with Kingsport Lodge #688. He attended Spires Chapel Church.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ferguson; parents, Linzy and Gladys Pennington Ferguson; sister, Lorene Harris; brothers, Walter Ferguson and Brent Ferguson.

 

Ed is survived by his daughter, Michelle Denise; sons, Eddie Ferguson and wife Brenda, Lowell Ferguson and wife Susan and Larry Ferguson and wife Penny; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Bays and June Osborne; brother, John Ferguson and wife Iva; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City.

 

A Masonic service will begin at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with a funeral service to follow. Pastor David Poore will officiate. Music will be provided by True Faith Quartet and John Miller.

 

Burial will follow in Holston View Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

 

Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City is serving the Ferguson family.
