Obituary of Kyle Thomas Atkinson

Kyle Thomas Atkinson, age 26, of Surgoinsville, passed away Friday, December 27, 2019, at his residence.

Kyle was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. He was the son of Ronald Atkinson and Robin Greer Calton.

Kyle was a 2011 graduate of Volunteer High School. He enjoyed being with his friends, playing video games and going camping.

Survivors include his father, Ronald Atkinson and his wife Christy; mother, Robin Calton and her husband, Carl; one sister, Erica Atkinson; two brothers, Zachary Atkinson and Nicholas Atkinson; maternal grandfather, Gerald Greer; paternal grandfather, Bobby Atkinson; maternal grandmother, Connie Thomas; paternal grandmother, Nancy Atkinson; one niece, Jasmine Barrett; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family of Kyle Thomas Atkinson will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Thursday, January 2, 2020, in the Carter Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill. The funeral service will follow at 7 pm with Rev. Tecky Hicks and Rev. Timothy Greer officiating. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 1 pm Friday, in the Oak Hill Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Daniel Ray II, Garrett Kendrick, Dillion Overbey, Alex Cowie, Bradley Baker and Harlee Rhoton. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 pm Friday.
