Obituary of Clarita Acdan Altom

Clarita Acdan Altom 73, of Gray went to be with the Lord and her loving husband on Monday, December 30, 2019 at her home. She was born in Dugcal, Philippines to the late Fidel and Maria Acdan.  Clarita moved to this area on February 14, 1976. She was an active member of the Phil-Am Club and attended Grace Fellowship Church where she was known as the coffee and candy lady. Clarita was also famous for her banana bread and her crochet work. She was a loving friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael “Mike” Altom; brothers, Rodolpho Acdan and Benjamin Casais; sister, Ester Ilagan.

Survivors include her daughter, Diana Shelbourn and husband David; grandsons, Alexander, Kalin, Aaron, and Evan Shelbourn; sister-in-law, Nancy Rhoton; brothers-in-law, John Altom and Jeffery Altom and wife Sherry; special friends, Gale and Ron Pate; along with a host of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Bobby Reynolds officiating.

A graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
