Obituary of Gregory Luther Fansler

Gate City – Gregory Luther Fansler, 56 of Gate City, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at his residence unexpectedly. Born in Kingsport, he had lived in Gate City (Yuma Community) for the past 20 years. Greg worked for Eastman Chemical Company for 18 years before leaving for health reasons. He loved to fish and hunt in his free time. He also loved spending time with his two grandchildren, Kaylee and Braxton Fansler, which were his two precious gifts in life.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Luther Fansler

 

Greg is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda Nelson Fansler; daughters, Amber Fansler and Ashley Winegar and husband Ricky; grandchildren, Kaylee Fansler and Braxton Fansler; mother, Mary Fansler; brother, Tony Fansler.

 

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City.

 

A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Larry Tolley officiating.

 

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ashley Winegar, Tony Fansler, Jeff Nelson, William Winegar, Ricky Winegar, Jeff Thacker, Daryl Johnson and Dan Thacker.

 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Scott County Rescue Squad and Scott County Funeral Home for all their help.
