Obituary of Michael Leon Eastwood

 

Micheal Leon Eastwood known as Mickey of Jonesborough, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on Tuesday January 7,2020. Mickey was a loving husband,father,grandfather,great grandfather and brother.He was a uncle to many nieces and nephews .Mickey severed his country in the United States Navy on the USS Constelatation. He retired from Ford Moter Company after 30 years.

Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Mary Louise Eastwood both of Karnak, Illinois. And his second wife Geraldine Eastwood of Jonesborough Tennessee and Brother-in-Law Van Flanders of Arizona.   

Survivors include his wife of 20 yrs Jane Eastwood, three children from his first wife, (Brenda Gabor) daughter, Jodie (Kjell) Eastwood Kjorkleiv; sons, Kenneth (Ruth) Eastwood, Scott Eastwood, of Florida and from (Jane Eastwood) a stepdaughter Robin (Todd) Whitaker of Tennessee. He had 7 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Mickey was the only brother with 3 sisters. Pamela Eastwood Flanders of Arizona, Janice (Jerry) Eastwood Bargowski and Cindy (Duane) Eastwood Edwards of Michigan.

 After retiring Mickey enjoyed his retirement on the golf course with many of his golfing buddies trying to achieve that hole in one shot. He loved to sit out on his front porch drinking his coffee admiring the Virginia Mountains, When he was young Mickey loved to dance, fish and hunt every chance he could. He was so proud of the time he scored his first black bear on one of his hunting trips. He carried that smile of his for months afterward.

A military graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Tuesday, January 21,2020 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with honors conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3/265. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50.
