Obituary of Linda Gail Ball

Kingsport – Linda Gail Carpenter Ball, 70 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and was retired as assistant manager from Hancock Fabrics. Linda was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where she actively served faithfully in the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed helping at the church Homecoming and Taste of Christmas. Linda loved to read, sew, shop, make desserts, talk on the phone, and keep the pitch count at her grandson’s baseball games. She loved to travel to the beach and play golf with her husband Kenneth. Linda never met a stranger and showed love and kindness to everyone.

She was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Jason Ball; her parents, Earl and Helen Brooks Carpenter.

Linda is survived by her husband of 53 years, Kenneth Ball; daughter, Lisa Morelock and husband Brent; son, Christopher Ball and wife Noelle; grandchildren, Zachary Ball, Jeremiah Ball and Gavin Morelock; step-grandchildren, Joshua Buckles, Aubrey Marshall; step great-grandchildren, Tristan Holmes, Aidyn Marshall, and Asher Bonds; special lifelong friend, Shelia Fleming and many others.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 pm on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Pleasant View Baptist Church.

A funeral service will follow at 2 pm at the church with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Music will be provided by Pleasant View Baptist Church Choir.

Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church, Radio Broadcast, 2101 Stadium Drive, Kingsport, TN 37664.
