Obituary of Timothy Pierson

Timothy Pierson, age 63, of Kingsport, TN went home to be with the Lord, with his wife and children at his side on February 3rd, 2020 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA.  He was born and spent his life living in Kingsport, TN. Tim graduated from Lynn View High School in 1975 and received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in 1979.  He worked as an Engineer at Eastman Chemical Company from 1979 to 2013.  

 He was preceded in death by his parents, John Clifford and Gwendolyn Pierson. 

 Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Karen; his son, Seth and wife, Ashley; future granddaughter Ava; daughter, Kaitlyn; sister Jonnie; nephews, Cliff and Wes Garland; and lifelong friend, Ken Bates. 

 The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the Chapel at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport.  A funeral service will follow with Pastor Travis Pierson officiating. Tim requested a comfortable, casual service.  He loved College sports and wished for fans to wear the apparel of their favorite team. 

A private graveside service will be conducted at the Pierson Family Cemetery in Ft. Blackmore with Ken Bates, Larry Arms, Tom Woodruff, Jim Shisler, Jim Smith, and Rick Cooper serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Cliff Garland, Wes Garland, Andrew Hockett, David Carmack, Jamie Tignor, Levi Tignor, Matt Tignor, Jake Cockerham, Chase Buchanan, Danny Pierson, and Jackie Pierson.

 In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Pierson Cemetery 250 Campbell Street Gate City, VA 24251.
