Obituary of Juda "Judy" Annette Oliver

Mrs. Juda “Judy” Annette Oliver, 79, of Gate City, Va., passed away Monday, February 3, 2020, at the Holston Valley Medical Center.

Judy lived most of her life in Indianapolis and Scott County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late James Dalton Burgess and Pansy Culbertson Burgess .

Judy was a homemaker. She was a member of Lighthouse Church in Kingsport and Faith Apostolic Church in Carmel, Indiana.

Judy loved singing in the church. She was an artist and never met a stranger.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by one son, Dalton Oliver; one brother, Bobby Joe Burgess; one sister, Peggy Jean Burgess Fraley.

Survivors include her loving husband of sixty two years Harry Oliver; two daughters, Lesia McBride and her husband Dennis and Deborah Hassebrock and her husband Dale; one daughter-in-law, Melissa Oliver; six grandchildren, Timothy Hassebrock, Travis Hassebrock, Thomas Hassebrock, Trenton Hassebrock and Mackenzie, Trisha Sexton and her husband Brandon and Cheyenne Oliver; four great grandchildren, John Dalton Hassebrock, Rosalie Hassebrock, Zidane Hassebrock and Nolan Hassebrock; several nieces and nephews.

The family of Mrs. Juda “Judy” Annette Oliver will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Lighthouse Church, 145 Shipp Springs Road, Kingsport. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1 pm with Bishop David Peters, Rev. Matthew Ball and Rev. Allen McMillan officiating.
