Obituary of Buster Hensley

Buster Hensley, 84, of Gate City went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 10, 2020 at NOVA Health and Rehab.

Buster was born on June 7, 1935 in Scott County to the late Garvey Elijah Hensley and Dona Mae Fletcher Hensley. Buster loved to read, enjoyed visiting the Yuma swimming pool, and enjoyed spending time with his family. Buster was of the Baptist faith.

Along with his parents Buster is preceded in death by his sister, Bessie Ann Thacker and husband Quinton. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Dorothy Fansler and husband James, Opal Thacker, and Patsy Minnich; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Jeff DeBoard officiating. Jerry Fansler will provide music. A graveside service will follow the funeral at Holston View Cemetery. Jack Sanders, Eric Musick, Wyatt Musick, Craig Chapman, Mike Roberts, Roger Darnell, Billy Thacker, and Tim Thacker will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at NOVA for their love and care of Mr. Hensley.
