Obituary of Larry L. Falin

LARRY L.  FALIN

Gate City- Larry Falin, Devoted Husband, Adored Daggy, Awesome Papaw, Loving Brother, Amazing Uncle to many and Faithful Friend to all, went home to be with Jesus on February 14, 2020 at his home. Two of the greatest loves of his life, his wife Midge Falin (Bradley) of almost 52 years and daughter Cindy Falin-Francisco, his pride and joy, were holding his hand when he took his final breath.

Born October 2, 1946 in Scott County, Larry spent the majority of his life living on Holsten River. Larry proudly served his country in the National Guard for twelve years and worked at Eastman Chemical for 32 years before retiring in 1997.

Larry was a skilled artist and hand-crafted hundreds of custom-made knives and leather goods that were sold throughout the region and beyond. He was also an award-winning photographer and his knack for capturing wildlife and nature was legendary. Larry never went far without his camera, always ready to capture a special moment.

Larry was preceded in death by his loving parents Claude and Doris Falin and brother Glen Falin. He is survived by wife Mildred (Midge) Falin, whom he enjoyed a lifelong romance with, loving daughter Cindy Falin-Francisco, sister Teresa (Craig) Stephenson and the lights of his life, his beautiful grandchildren Isabelle, Atticus and Spidey Francisco. Larry also leaves behind to cherish a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and neighbors. Special thanks to Rob Price.
