Obituary of Janice Summey

Kingsport, Janice Faye Summey, 73, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 10, 2020 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Janice was born in Kingsport where she resided her entire life. She retired from Eastman Chemical Company with over 30 years of service.  Janice loved going to church where she was a member of Pilgrims Rest. Janice enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her family especially the light of her eye, her grandson, Brody.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter; parents, Desta and Ed Gass; two infant brothers; sister, Thelma Hensley.

Janice is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Mack Summey; son, Jon Summey (Sondra); grandson, Brody Summey; sister, Nellie Williams (James); along with a host of extended family and friends.

Due to the state restriction for Covid-19, a private graveside service will be held at Holsten View Cemetery for the family with Rev. Mike Owens officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church, 3120 Atoka Circle, Kingsport, TN 37664.
