Obituary of Murrell E. Goad

Murrell E. Goad, 91, of Kingsport, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020, after a lengthy illness.

He was a resident of Hawkins County. He was the son of the late Murrell and Mable Cox Goad.

He attended Christian Life Center of the Tri-Cities, until his health declined.

In addition to his parents, Murrell was preceded in death by two brothers, Nile and Keith Goad; one sister, Nola Ragle; one grandson Samuel.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-nine years Freda Goad; three daughters, Sandra Overbay and her husband Bill, Karen Couch and her husband Harold and Greta Lawson and her husband Lynn; two sons, Freddie Goad and his wife Dana and Curtis Goad and his wife Lorraine; seven grandchildren, Buffy Coleman, Jody Goad, Camille Frix, Alisa Vaughn, Jonathan Lawson, Robert and David; ten great grandchildren, Josh, Isaac, Rowan, Wyatt, Joseph, Anthony, David, Bekah, Caleb and Hannah; two great great grandchildren, Rylan and Hudson; special friend, John Arnold.

Due to the state restriction for Covid-19, a private graveside service for Murrell E. Goad will be held for the family with Pastor Roy Brickey officiating. Music will be provided by John Arnold.
