Obituary of Sarah "Gran Nanster" Dorton

Kingsport – Sarah “Gran Nanster” Dorton, 78 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 24, 2020 at her residence. Born in Wise County, VA she had lived most of her life in Kingsport. Sarah had worked as a floral designer and waitress and was a “Jill of all Trades and Master of None”.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alex Everett Blevins; mother, Hattie Elizabeth Tucker Blevins; sisters, Mary Dorton, Betty Jo Blevins, Henrietta Collins and Marcella Samples; brothers, Harold Blevins and William Blevins; grandson, David Dorton.

Sarah is survived by her daughters, Sharon Brunke and Leslie Hill (Brian); grandchildren, Mark Dorton, Kayleff Dorton, Stephanie Calhoun (Cody), Brittney Winkler and J.J. Winkler; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Freda Blevins, Sheila Moore (Dee), and Kay Marsh; brother, Gary Blevins; several nieces and nephews; a very special sister-in-law, Betty Ketron (Joe); special niece, Carol Schmoldt.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm Sunday, April 26, 2020 in the ShareLife Room at Carter-Trent Funeral Home. Family and friends may also call anytime at the residence.
