Obituary of Eulous Grant Powell

Eulous Grant (Bob) Powell, 83 of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 27, 2020 peacefully surrounded by his family. He served his country in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in France. Bob retired from Simplex-Grinnell after 40 years of service. Bob was a faithful man of God who loved to cook, family gatherings and vacations with his family. He loved tomatoes and UT football in that order. Bob will surely be missed by family and friends until we meet him again.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eulous and Rosa Lee Powell, and his brother, Gerald.

Bob is survived by his wife, Faye Powell; children, Jeff (Lisa) Powell, Lisa Grigsby and fiancé Stephen Crutchfield, Kristi (Randy) Kilgore; grandchildren, Emily Peterson (Kyle), Lynsey Powell, Allie Powell, Grant Grigsby, Gavin Grigsby, Corbin Kilgore and Colten Kilgore; brother, Jack Powell (Scarlett); sister, Judy Cooter (Robert), along with several nieces and nephews and a special nurse Susie Dayton.

A private graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor David Lester and Pastor Mike Driver officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the American legion Hammond Post #3/265. A brief eulogy will be provided by Paul Overbay.  His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Per Bob’s request, memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes at 501 St. Jude Place. Memphis, TN 38105.
