Obituary of Jerry Kyle Smith

Mr. Jerry Kyle Smith, 51, of Surgoinsville, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Kyle was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. He was the son of Ermal E. Smith and the late JoAnn Smith.

Kyle was an avid Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

In addition to his mother, Kyle was also preceded in death by one infant brother, Timmy Ray Smith; both maternal and paternal grandparents; numerous aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his father, Ermal “June” Smith and his longtime companion Diana Huerner; six brothers, Earl Smith and his wife Karen, Roger Smith, James Smith, Wayne Smith, Ray Smith and his wife Tracy and Tony Smith and his friend Paula Harvey; three sisters, Jenie Simpson and her husband Carl, Summer Jolie Lee and Brittney Hall; special great niece, Lexie; several nieces and nephews; a host of cousins and friends.

A memorial service for Mr. Jerry Kyle Smith will be conducted at 7 pm Friday, June 5, 2020, at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh officiating.
