Obituary of James Ell Elam

Dante, VA – James Ell Elam, 75 of Dante, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap. He was born in Russell County, VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Ell and Clidie Lee Johnson Elam.

James is survived by his sister, Joyce Elam and husband Allen Collins; brother, J. L. Mitchell and wife Stella; sister-in-law, Gladys Elam; nieces, Regina Elam and Anthony Kiser, Sheri Hatcher and husband Ron, Misty Ferguson and husband Beau, Norma Hensley and husband Greg, Christie Walton, and Glenda Sutherland and husband Scotty; nephew, Jerry Walton; several great nieces and nephews; several great-great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City.

A funeral service will follow at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with Guy Elam officiating.

Burial will follow in Grassy Creek Cemetery, Hwy 71, Castlewood, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
