Obituary of Jerry Glenn Ketron

Jerry Glenn Ketron 73, of Church Hill went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. He was born in Kingsport to the late Ralph and Edith Ketron. Glenn worked as a production operator and material handler for eighteen years at Eastman Chemical Company. Glenn was called to the ministry and served as Assistant Pastor of Cedar View Methodist Church. He served as Pastor of Vernon Heights Baptist Church, Tri-City Baptist Church, Rogersville Baptist Temple, Bethel Baptist Church in La Plata, Maryland, Belle Meadows Baptist Church, and Indian Ridge Baptist Church.  Following his pastoral service, Glenn served as an insurance representative and as a chaplain for Smokey Mountain Hospice. Glenn was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant sister, Charlene Ketron; grandson, Michael; father and mother-in-law, Elmer and Nina Myers; brothers-in-law, Larry Mowell ,Delmer Mowell, and James Myers; sister-in-law, Diana Blevins .

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Gwen Ketron; sons, Anthony Ketron and wife Diane, Aaron Ketron and wife Hilary; daughter, Andrea Ketron; grandchildren, Grace, Emily, and Christinia; sisters, Charlotte Mowell, Naomi Schriefer and husband Scott; brother-in-law, Charles Blevins; along with several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2pm on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown Kingsport with Pastor Ronnie Owens officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:50pm.  Please plan to adhere to all mask and social distancing requirements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation at 6520 N. Andrews Ave. Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 33309.
