The Bowman High School Class of 1969 has lost one of its best. I am sad, and so are all the classmates I have contacted. My mind has been flooded with memories all day. May you be given a measure of peace as you adjust to life without him.

Shelly, Matthew, Michael, and Meghan,
I am so shocked and saddened to hear about the passing of Mike. He was such a loved person by all! I know when I started into the pharmaceutical world, he was so patient and kind to show me and teach me the ropes. I felt I knew all of you first hand because he was so proud of his family. My husband Greg loved him and sold him his first golf cart . We have such good memories of Mike. I even got to hear about the dogs that laid by his chair and licked his feet.as he use to Bat b que food for the family! He was always so jovial, funny and brought such a fresh breath of air to his life and work. He will sorely be missed, and I am praying for your strength! He loved all of you, and would want you to have strength to carry on. Please know that We are so sorry! Greg and Susan Jordan of Abingdon, Va.

Shelly, Michael, Matthew, and Megan,
I was so shocked and saddened to hear about Mike's passing. He and Vann were as close as brothers to me and my sisters when we were growing up. We went to each other's house almost every Sunday after church. We played in the woods together, went camping at Lake James in a big tent with our families, played croquet, learned to ride bicycles, and went on picnics on the Roan or on the Parkway with our families. We all grew up and had families and didn't see each other very much except at family reunions but I will always remember Mike's grin and how he use to kid everyone. I'm glad that Mike got to enjoy retirement and do some things that he wanted to do before he passed. I will miss my cousin and I know each one of you will miss him too.
He was a good husband and father and he was so proud of his family. I send my love to everyone at this sad time. May happy memories comfort you.

So sorry and sad to learn of Mike’s passing. Mike was a dear friend, as well as a fellow classmate of Bowman High School’s Class of 1969, He was taken too soon. When we gathered for reunions, we all enjoyed his wit, his stories, and his contagious smile. My heartfelt condolences to the entire family and prayers for comfort and peace as you carry the wonderful memories you have in the coming days and months.

Mike Bryant was truly the spirit of our Bowman High School Class of 1969. Always ready with a wry observation or witticism of some sort, Mike made us smile. Many of us will be checking our copies of the 1969 "Mountaineer," to find his picture, and the little notes he left here and there, and we'll smile at the memories.
Mike stopped by a party at my house for high school friends on Labor Day, 2019. Everyone was so pleased to see him, and, certainly, everyone remembered him. He was just that special, and he was someone we'll never forget.
Best to you, Vann, and to Mike's wife, Shelly, and family.
Love,
Susie Fortner Ballard
