Obituary of Steve Alan Hill

Kingsport – Steve Alan Hill, 55 of Kingsport passed away December 15, 2020 at home after a long illness. He was born April 8, 1965 in Kingsport, TN to James Patrick Hill, Sr. and Shirley Kate (Bishop) Hill. He was raised in Rye Cove, VA and moved to Kingsport at the age of 15 and spent most of his adult life here. He started working for Tate Painting Service for 14 years, during which time he also worked for the City of Kingsport and at one point he even drove an 18 wheeler up and down the west coast. He also started his own business in 1995 and painted for himself until 2015 when he became ill and was no longer able to work. He fought long and hard until the Lord decided to call him home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, JP and Shirley Kate Hill and his brother, James Patrick Hill, Jr.

Steve is survived by his ex-wife and caretaker, Rebecca L. Hill of Kingsport; daughter, Victoria “Tori” Smith and wife Rachel of Church Hill; sons, Nicholas Alan Hill and girlfriend Megan McLain of Kingsport and Isaac James Calton of Church Hill; his special adopted daughter, Hannah L. Hill and boyfriend Billy R. Barrett of Fall Branch; grandchildren, Phoenix, Joplin, and Hendrix Smith of Church Hill, Nikaron A. Hill and Arden W. McLain of Kingsport; sisters, Patricia D. Hill and boyfriend Bobby, Gloria J. Frazier and husband Rick both of Duffield, VA. ; brothers, Johnny R. Hill and girlfriend Carol Crawford, Brian K. Hill and wife Leslie, Timothy D. Hill and girlfriend Lynn Snavely of Kingsport, Jason S. Hill and girlfriend Crystal Dawn of Duffield, VA; his best friend and family of 40 years whom he considered as a brother also, Claude Hall and family of Church Hill along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID19 there will be no memorial services at this time. A remembrance service will be held at a later date, undetermined as of now.
